A man by the name of Curtis is about to give a whole new meaning to the terms “liquid diet.” After her third premature baby, wife Katie filled their 22-cubic-foot upright deep freezer with her excess breast milk. Now, her husband Curtis plans on feeding only on it for as long as his body can take it.

The mother of three – who also happens to be a doula and childbirth educator – has hundreds of bottles of frozen breast milk in the freezer. And there’s no way their nine-month-old baby will have a chance to drink them all before they go bad. So Curtis, who has digestive problems, figured why not drink it all himself?

Their objective is to discover how much breast milk will it take to nourish a 6’4″, 185-pound grown man and how many days can a grown man live off breast milk comfortably.

Curtis is writing about his experiment on his blog, Don’t Have a Cow, Man. He outlines the rules, which are as follow:

Katie, who is a lactation expert, says that Curtis needs 2,000 calories a day. After testing it, her breast milk contains approximately 27 to 32 calories per ounce, so that means Curtis needs to drink 66 ounces of breast milk daily. The experience is now on its third day, and it seems Curtis is getting too hungry already:

Much more hungry yesterday, 104 ounces consumed, roughly 3120 calories. Near the end of the day I started craving solid foods, so I drank more milk and it satisfied my hunger. I am really enjoying the milk now and am always surprised how each glass tastes different.

Not surprisingly, people are totally grossed out by this experiment, as evidenced in the comment section of Curtis’ blog. But there are just as many supporters out there, many of whom question why we even drink cow’s milk, for example, instead of our own.

Bobby and Julie Haleluk have designed the ‘Dipr’, a spoon that holds your cookie while you dip it in milk. Just in case you’re not sure how to use it, they even made a video – huh?

So… you want us to go to the kitchen, grab the Dipr from a drawer, use it a couple of times, wash it, and then put it back? As opposed to what, taking a cookie from the container and dunking it in milk with your hands?

Why don’t you tell someone to design a contraption that will catapult the cookie into your mouth? Call it the Tosr.

As ridiculous as this tool is, the couple did get 81 backers and $10,000 to take their idea to the next step.

Yes scientists have successfully introduced human genes into 300 dairy cows to produce milk with the same properties as human breast milk.

The research, which is backed by a major biotechnology company, is being done in hopes of getting these genetically modified dairy products on shelves at your local grocery store – perhaps next to the ice cream made from human breast milk?

If you think this bizarre notion of drinking genetically modified milk is a little bit stank and harmful to the cows, scientists already have answers prepared for critics.

According to The Telegraph, Professor Ning Li, the scientist who led the research and director of the State Key Laboratories for AgroBiotechnology at the China Agricultural University says the milk would be totally safe and just like milk from regular dairy cows.

He said: “The milk tastes stronger than normal milk. No thanks!

“We aim to commercialize some research in this area in coming three years. For the “human-like milk”, 10 years or maybe more time will be required to finally pour this enhanced milk into the consumer’s cup.”

The world is becoming a scary place…but I think we can all agree that the packaging isn’t nearly as nice as the original.

However, as strange as that was, it looks as if another lawsuit-happy Californian mother is suing the makers of that delicious gooey hazelnut chocolate spread, Nutella over false advertising.

In the suit Athena Hohenberg of San Diego claims that she was “shocked to learn that Nutella was in fact, not ‘healthy, nutritious’ food, but instead was the next best thing to a candy bar, and that Nutella contains dangerous level of saturated fat.”

It’s a container full of hazelnut chocolate and sugar, how can you mistake that for healthy?

On its website, Nutella lists its ingredients as sugar, palm oil, hazelnuts, cocoa, skim milk, reduced minerals whey (milk), lecithin as emulsifier (soy), and vanillin: an artificial flavor.

Perhaps she didn’t read the ingredients and was confused over the label, which does contain a rendering of a glass of milk and some delicious, fresh off the tree hazelnuts. Even still, can a little bit of hazelnut chocolate be considered as bad as the bowl of Sugar Pops or the sausage ‘n’ egger you occasionally stuff down your child’s throat?

Hohenberg, the parent of a Nutella-loving (presumably) 4-year-old, is seeking money from the Ferraro Co., which makes Nutella. I wonder if the fact that Ferraro is the richest man in Italy with an estimated worth of $11 billion has anything to do with the lawsuit.

The San Diego mother would like to turn her suit into a class action lawsuit. If a class action suit is filed, Hohenberg asks that any monetary judgment against the company be divided among “all persons who purchased on or after January 2000 one or more Nutella products in the United States for their own or household use.”

Come on lady, I grew up on Nutella and I still have all my teeth. Try mixing a little bit of fruits and vegetables into your kid’s diet instead depending on a jar of hazelnut chocolate spread for your kid’s breakfast.
