After that long ride down the coast, finding a nice spot for you and your trusty bike to crash is essential. Once you find that spot, you’re going to need shelter, but does your bike need it as well?

Enter the Nomad TénéréExpedition Tent, a good night’s sleep isn’t just important when you are traveling the world by motorcycle, it’s essential. This tent is geared towards the dedicated motorcycle traveller, it provides shelter for two adults with 30 square feet of interior room, but the best part is the garage that has room for one full sized motorcycle.

The tent only weighs 13 pounds and is made from ripstop nylon, with a polyester floor. One of the important selling features of the tent is how you can set it up without getting soaking wet.

Park the bike, set up the outer sheet of the tent and you are instantly out of the elements for erecting the inner tent. When you are ready to take off in the morning you can pack up the inner tent, the ground sheet and your gear onto the bike all within the comfort and shelter of the outer sheet.

The Tent cost $399, but do you really need a tent for your bike? I am not an avid biker by any means, but reading some post made by other bike enthusiasts makes me question the need for this tent:

“First, you don’t need to shelter your bike. Second, when you stop riding, the bike will be too hot to build the tent around it for like half an hour or so, so if you feel like you really need your tent up, you will have to wait. Third, it means you have to carry a bigger tent for no real reason, leaving less room for clothes, food, etc. Space is limited on a bike.

In short, this is dumb.”

Perhaps just take the whole house with you instead.
