Born from the collaboration between Mini, Airstream and Danish furniture designer Fritz Hansen, the 6.80-metre-long Airstream trailer is billed as a stylistic vision of the future of travel, the theme of the project is a “mobile living” concept with a beachfront motif design.

Details include the use of surfer-dude “wetsuit” neoprene, fresh colours and flower prints, and the option of opening up the trailer on one side and making yourself comfortable on a built-in sun-bathing bed.

This mobile “home from home” feeds that mythical dream of surfing and watersports enthusiasts… always hunting for the perfect wave, at home anywhere around the world. It must be the ultimate fusion of design and function.

Since it is not ordinarily available with a trailer coupling, the MINI Cooper S Clubman had to be specially modified to fulfil its role in this adventurous concept.

The design study was unveiled to the public for the first time at the INTERNI Design Energies exhibition in Milan on 22 – 27 April 2009.

Powered by a 1000W, 48V electric motor, the bike has a range of 90 miles. Reflective exterior almost disappears and the rider silently floats uncomfortably along the streets. But wait, there’s more: all of the ride-related data, including speed and GPS, is displayed on the riders’ smartphone through downloadable apps.

Aside from its somewhat ridiculous name, designer Imran Othman claims the Dyke is inspired by Dyson’s Air Multipliers and works of the same principles.

Air flows through the bronze hollow cylinder creating an entrainment. The air is then pulled, and amplified by 1000000 times, which pushes the bike upwards (stability) and forward (speed), all powered by electricity.

If the Dyke ever comes to fruition, you can expect to pay a hefty price…have you seen how much Dyson vacuum cleaners are going for?

Designed by British boat builders Yacht Island Design, from Derby, the 295ft ‘Tropical Island Paradise’ boasts a helicopter landing pad and huge bar set behind a series of beach cabanas. It also comes with its own private beach cove and a waterfall cascading down from a volcano…Just what every playboy bachelor billionaire needs.

Studio director Rob McPherson at the Derbyshire firm, who also created the Streets of Monaco super-yacht, said: ‘The exterior was designed to give the impression of waves breaking around a volcanic island, whilst maintaining the look of a contemporary yacht design.

The boat – which has yet to hit the market and hasn’t had a price set – is causing waves in the boat building world with its unique design.

Air-powered motorcycles may not be the newest toy on the block, but there has never been one as fast, as impressive or as groundbreaking as the Saline Bird.

Powered by a compressed air engine provided by MDI, combined with 3 gas cylinders with total capacity of 27 liters, the Saline Bird was created for the Les Triplettes de Bonneville speed record event.

Designed by five Frenchmen Charles-Edouard Berche, Ugo Spagnolo , Adrien Fuinesl, Frédéric Dobbelstein and Jean-Philippe Paries, the Saline Bird is not just about lightning speed, but incredible aesthetic  design along with a dose of green technology. Optional leather body panels only add to the sleek, modernized finish.

The bike is currently being designed in two different models: one as a normal motorcycle and one for extremely high-speed, record-setting performance. Either way, however, the Saline Bird is a wake-up call to anyone who has ever argued that fossil fuel-free automobiles can’t measure up to their oil-dependent brethren.

On a side note, maybe they could do something about those air tanks being so close to my boys…I would hate for something to backfire.

Designer Ian McElroy came out with concept bike back in 2009, but has yet to turn the bike into reality. This time around, the non-Subaru endorsed designer has created Kickboxer Diesel AWD and as the name suggests, the bike features a diesel engine (also originated from Subaru) and an all-wheel drive system.

Just like its predecessor, the bike looks stunning, featuring composite bodywork, single-sided swingarms, LED lighting, a turbocharger under the engine and a sophisticated transmission with two chains.

According to Ian, “I designed the model to be accurate and realistic enough to build a real bike from. If I had the money I could take the CAD files straight to a machinist, and have the parts made today.”

Somebody lend this guy some money, this bike looks amazing!

Now you can ride your scooter straight from your garage at home, right into the deep blue ocean at the beach. As the scooter enters the water, the wheels and the front tire hub are contracted in relation to the depth of the water. The front wheel steering is then converted to an internal propeller system.

The JetCycle features a unique user interface by which the power level, water depth and any internal problems with the vehicle are displayed on a screen.

Unfortunately the colors leave something to be desired, come on ‘Hot Pink’ and ‘Lime Green’ – no thanks.

The Supple is balanced on a globe wheel, which is controlled by a motor and a processor. The concept is meant to go front, back, left, right and even do a 360 degree loopty loop.

The Supple or AGV (automatic guide vehicle) machine uses a wireless network. The half machine, half processor is guided by a GPS in which the driver clicks on their destination and the supple rolls them to that exact spot. Leaving the “driver” (probably call them a passenger since they don’t actually drive) can play a game of solitaire on the attached LCD screen that pops out of the side of the globe.

Mark my words, in 250 years everyone will have one of these…Unfortunately it won’t pass the motor vehicle act until seatbelts and a front bumper are incorporated into it.
