Times are so good in Dubai, that Police have added a Lamborghini Aventador to the force. The $540,000 muscle car is capable of speeds up to 217mph and is thought to be the most expensive police car in the world.

Looking eerily similar to the Batmobile, the Veneno is built primarily out of carbon fiber and is festooned with spoilers and vents and a small little 750 HP 12 cylinder engine capable of rocketing it from 0-100km/h in 2.8 seconds.

The Veneno seen here is a prototype (chassis No. zero). The three “production” cars will wear red, green or white to celebrate Lamborghini’s Italian heritage. And if you’re curious about the name, the Veneno was a famous bull that killed a matador back in 1914 – something its trio of owners should note if they disable the traction control.

As a special promotion, New York based fashion brand Nooka, converted a few DeLorean cars into fully working taxi cabs.

But seriously, that is pretty awesome. I’m now thinking of other things that can be “condensed” and be made into furniture.

Custom built by Putsch racing, the car uses a Boeing turboshaft engine and can run on Jet A, kerosene, or diesel…It is also fully road legal.

According to the car firm’s site, the engine originally belonged to an obsolete military remote controlled helicopter before being salvaged and used on the car. It also has fully independent suspension and disc brakes, with a power to weight ratio similar to that of a Dodge Viper.

Have fun on speed bumps with that thing.

$235,000 blue Ferrari Scuderia up for auction under BC Civil Forfeiture Act

Two 31 year old men learned the hard way that speeding in the Province of British Columbia, Canada can cost you….Dearly!

The B.C. government is using its new civil forfeiture law to seize a $235,000 Ferrari Scuderia and a BMW M6 valued at $75,000 after two drivers were caught street racing.

The blue 2008 Ferrari Scuderia and white 2008 BMW M6 were impounded after being stopped speeding /racing up Mount Seymour in North Vancouver on Sept. 27 — with the Ferrari narrowly missing a mother walking with her children.

Both vehicles were travelling at an estimated speed of 200 km/h in a 60 km/h zone, according to police and   each driver was banned from driving for 15 days.

“The kind of driving our member witnessed warranted a much more serious response than a ticket and temporary impoundment, and civil forfeiture allowed for that response,” said North Vancouver RCMP Supt. Tonia Enger, in statement released by the government.

New Civil Forfeiture Act was strengthened a couple year ago to give the BC government the powers they need to just what’s need to enforce the laws, those powered include forfeiture of property.
However, this isn’t the first time BC has used this evil power, in 2007 a chrome-laden 2003 Hummer H2 with Lamborghini-style hydraulic doors and a $16,000custom audio system,

and a 2002 GMC Denali with chrome spinner wheels were seized under the Civil Forfeiture Act on the basis that the vehicles were used for drug trafficking.

However, all the news is not bleak for the two drivers as the government isn’t going to keep all the money made at auction.

Fifty per cent of the proceeds of the Ferrari sale will go to a relative of the driver who was part owner of the vehicle but not involved in the incident. The driver will get 30 per cent, and the province will take the remaining 20 per cent.

Storage fees and repaying a bank debt will be paid first from the BMW proceeds. Seventy percent will go to the driver, with another 30 per cent going to the province.

So if you’re in the market for a blue Ferrari Scuderia or a white BMW M6, you know where to go.

The Huntington Beach man was pulled over for a suspected traffic violation and DUI, but manages to crash into the officer’s patrol car as he tried to park in the lot of a nearby gas station.

Then to add a little more pizzazz to the night Aparicio guns the car head on into a pole directly in front of it as well as a water and air dispenser at the gas station, causing the water line to rupture. The force of the crash lifted the rear wheels of the car about a foot into the air.

Officer Tony White of the Laguna Beach Police Department calmly watches the whole incident with marvel until he finally arrests Aparicio on ‘suspicion’ of DUI.

How much more proof do you need? Oh wait, I forgot to mention that the car Aparicio was driving was a Toyota Prius, remember those?   I’m sure that it was a gas pedal, brake, wrong gear.
