What a brilliant idea…A mother has created a range of Down Syndrome dolls inspired by her daughter, who is affected by the chromosomal condition.
Connie Feda, got the idea when her 9-year-old daughter Hannah, who has Down Syndrome, pointed out that no dolls look like her. None of the dolls she owned or saw in catalogs resembled her.
Connie, then began to look for dolls designed with Down syndrome characteristics but she was displeased with the options already on the market. So, in a bid to give other children like hers ‘a friend for life’, mom turned her Dolls For Downs project into a full-time occupation and her plastic figurines are set to hit the market in May.
Several dolls available for preorder..In the meantime, here’s a look at the prototypes.
