Bulldog Stuck with 500 Quills after Fight with Porcupine
Have you ever heard the one about the bulldog and the porcupine? Neither have I and unfortunately, this is no joke.
Poor ol’ three-year-old Bella Mae was stuck with more than 500 quills after a painful encounter with a porcupine.
The rambunctious bulldog and two other dogs were in their backyard pond when the slightly humours, but painful event took place.
Long story short, Bella got the worst of the porcupine and after a visit to the Animal Emergency Center, where painful surgery was performed, doctors removed quills from her face, feet, mouth and lodged into her teeth.
Doctors estimate Bella was stuck with 500 quills from the porcupine, and there’s a possibility some are still embedded in her body; that’s why she’ll remain on medication and close supervision.
This is just sad for poor Bella, but there is a bald porcupine out there somewhere
