Trippy Portraits of Women Showing the Thatcher Effect
This is a very trippy, but clever use of the Thatcher effect, created by Anuschka Blommers and Niels Schumm for a Dove ad campaign.
The series of photographs show what seems to be normal looking women flipped upside down…this is where it gets weird…the Thatcher effect is created by flipping a portrait upside down while keeping the eyes and/or mouth right side up. The human brain has a difficult time detecting these subtle “local” changes, and the portraits may look normal until you see them flipped.
I have taken the liberty of flipping the images right side up so you can see just how slow your brains are working
