Shark Luck – Angler Beats Astronomical Odds

Aside from the obvious thrill of reeling in a 100-pound shark, imagine the look on Chris Handley’s face when he discovered he caught the shark by hooking a hook already stuck in its jaw.

Chris Handley, 59, reeled in the lemon shark after it took his bait while fishing off Florida.

But it wasn’t until he looked closer that he realised his barb had slipped through the eye of a second hook left in the shark’s mouth from another angler’s broken line.

It is thought to be the first time such an amazing catch has been reported anywhere in the world. Boat skipper Roy Marlow carefully removed both hooks from the 6ft fish’s jaw before it was returned to the sea safe and well.

If you tried to do this billion times you might have a chance of getting it once.
