My Little Pony & Lady Gaga at the Dog Grooming Awards
With Halloween just around the corner, these pictures taken from the British Dog Creative Stylist of the Year competition, may just inspire you or make you laugh out loud in disgust.
The art of extreme dog grooming has long been associated with the madcap pet owners of the USA, but is now gracing the shores of the UK. In addition to the purple and pink washable dye, hairpieces, pointy ears and false eyelashes have been attached to the well-behaved mutts.
Organiser Louisa Tandy, 38, a dog salon owner from Gravesend in Kent, said: “It’s all good fun and the event gives top UK talent the chance to really show off what they can do.”
“The dogs are thrilled with all the attention they get – and love strutting their stuff. For them it’s just like getting a bath and a haircut… Like human models they need to be cool and collected and happy to stand still and enjoy the process.”
Louisa’s competition is strictly regulated to ensure that no dog is harmed in the process of changing their appearances.
It’s still wrong on so many levels. BTW, the Welsh red dragon won first place.

I don't like dogs at all, but even i feel sorry for the poor buggers. It's sad when pets have to pay for their owners inferiority / mental illnesses. Yes yes, these people may now argue that it doesn't hurt the pet, but doesn't change the fact that they do something to them that just isn't meant to be done. To me this is animal abuse, and i'm sure many people would be with me.
I agree with you 100%, except I love dogs…got 3 of my own. The very worst I do to is put a funny looking t-shirt or a pair of sun glasses on them
Well i remember a story about a girl that got into big trouble for dying her cat pink, oddly enough, it was mentioned that dogs been the inspiration for that, and those people seem to be rather more aggressive as we can see in the pictures. I see a double-moral there. I think everything is ok as long as it stays within reason and i don't think sunglasses are particularly hurtful, and not comparable with what those people pulled of.
Here is the story about the cat: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-wiltshire-11…
