The Incredible Noodle Weenie

How could such a simple concept have taken so long to come to fruition? It’s a noodle, it’s a weenie, and it’s a poor man’s spaghetti and meatballs – it’s the incredible Noodle Weenie!

Move over Apple pie, I think we have a new all American top dish WINNER. Dinner from the food bank just got a whole lot more interesting.

I am amazed. I mean, I am going to buy hot dogs on my way home from campus tomorrow and make…noodle weenies.

Excellent idea, although not sure how mixing an Italian and a German dish makes it American?

Russians "invented" it, also it looks much better (or more disturbing, make your pick) when the whole sausage is used instead of just pieces of it like in the pictures above.

Holy crap I do not care where the origin of this is I do know my 18 month old son is getting some of these made for him!

Looks like a lot of fun, but it also needs a sauce. We are going to try a cheese sauce.

But most important, NIX the turkey dogs! Sausage should be made from pigs or cows not the flesh of dead birds.

(Dead bird flesh is best enjoyed when cooked bone in and skin on.)

      you're a fucking idiot.

Well, there is a much kinder way to say this, but you're not totally off.

Sure it may be your opinion that turkey has not place in sausages and is enjoyed off the bone. I suggest that both pig and cow meat are equally (if not more, depending on your taste for ribs) delectable off the bone.

That being said, sausage is equal parts the meat used and herbs/spices used to create the flavor. Any meat can be put into a sausage as any meat can be ground down. It's all in how it mixes with the spices used as well.

Can't you just add cut up hot dogs instead of meatballs? Less work…

I saw this, stood up, and tried it out. Im not much of a cook either but i had all the ingredients so i figured what the hell. I took Hormel Chili Hot with Beans and mixed in Frank's RedHot and mixed it all together. Sprinkled a little cheese on the top, turned out actually really good.

I made this for my 2 year old granddaughter tonight. I tossed it in olive oil and Parmesan cheese, basil, oregano,a tiny dash of garlic salt and a half cup of Italian blend shredded cheese (while the noodles were still rather hot so the cheese got nice and melty.) She LOVED it and ate every bite with a big smile. :) SO FUN! P.s. the noodles were cooked perfectly even in the middle of the hotdog.

My friend and I created this years ago. It's called wienerpi. Not like wiener pie but the plural of wienerpus, as they look like octopi
