Anna Marinenko’s Japan Clock – Blood Drops on Water
With the catastrophe in Japan clearly in our hearts and minds, the very talented designer Anna Marinenko, created the Japan clock as a reminder that life truly does go on.
Most noted for her part tupperware, part spaceship “Ghost Urn”, the Japan clok takes inspiration from the Japanese flag, blood drops and circular ripples on the water. The clock is made from thin plastic plates, which can be used to write important notes on its surface.
The clock has a simple design with two circular plates – red and white, with one sliding over the other, while moving in a circular pattern, and although there is a slight learning curve to telling time, Anna’s creativity shines in a minimalistic design that will accentuate any room it is hung in.
