Love Thy Neighbor – Man refuses to take down 24-foot Illuminated Crucifix

Freedom of Religion, or just a pain in the ass? I am pretty sure I read something in the Bible about “loving thy neighbour”, but it seems that Carl Behr, 45, of Baldwin, Pa., skipped that page.

Behr, has a massive monument to Jesus Christ mounted in the front yard of his Baldwin, western Pennsylvania property. But neighbour Lisa Fera says the blinding lights from the 24-foot cross shine across the street and into her living room and bedroom.

Mr. Behr received a letter from the borough Monday, following her complaint, stating the cross was not in compliance with borough code and must come down within five days.

The cross, which is nailed to a tree on his property, is “about the Lord.” Those who want it removed, he said, are against God. ‘I’m going to defend my faith,’ he continued. ‘It’s not about winning or losing.

Would this have even made the news if the man had erected a lighted 24-foot wooden cut-out of a Rhode Island Red rooster?
