House of the Future Concept inspired by a Bad Acid Trip
From the mind of Texas A&M University student Kuangyi Tao, an obvious fan of the movie Alien, comes his interpretation of the House of the Future.
Probably more suited more to be living quarters for the Chimerans in Resistance 3, Tao gets his inspiration from the images of “body cells” depicted in the Matrix movie.
The bizarre concept works around memory alloy tubes of infrastructure system can be stretched apart to create the basic skeleton of the house, while the overlaying skin acts like a heart. Hold on we’re not done yet!
Get this… water and energy is distributed via tubes concealed in the membrane of the house. The material, which is electro-responsive, is able to expand or contract under different electrical stimulation, just like cardiac muscles. So if you decide to have friends over for the Super Bowl and need just a little more space, the House of the Future can sense this extra energy in t he room so the outer skin swells and allocates more space for you and your beer drinking buddies.
I am not done yet, the Klein bottle-esc house also generates oxygen to purify the atmosphere, while STEM algae embedded in the skin are able to sense the intensity of the sunlight thereby adjusting the skin (your windows) to become opaque or translucent.
I wouldn’t hold my breath waiting for this to come to fruition, however if you are interested in this prime real-estate, Tao is taking a 5-percent deposit OAC.
