Bizzare Hotel with Cloaking Capabilities that only Birds Can see – Mirrorcube
Yes it’s a real hotel. The Mirrororcube, is a three-story micro-hotel located in the village of Harads approximately 60km south of the Arctic Circle, right in the middle of nowhere. It is part of a bizarre chain of Tree hotels created to keep guests in harmony with nature.
Aside from the UFO and Hanging birds nest rooms (pictured bellow); the Mirrorcube stands out as one of the more unusual and captivating designs.
What seems to be the same cloaking capabilities that the Predator had, the semi-invisible and yes, bird-safe structure has a unique thin infrared film on its outer walls, apparently only visible to winged, egg laying animals.
Built in 2010 by architects Bolle Tham & Martin Videgård, the interior consists of plywood, while the windows give a 360-degree view of the entire forest. The cube provides living space for two people: a double bed, bath, a living room and roof terrace. Unfortunately there are no elevators as, access to the cabin is only available by a rope bridge.
Prices start at 3000 Swedish krona ($453) per night for the cheapest room and 4200 Swedish krona ($635) for the Mirrorcube.
