Karotz, Your Personal assistant Bunny

Is there any other electronic device you can think of to make your digital life complete?  How about a newer version of Nabaztag, that old Wi-Fi enabled ambient electronic device in the shape of a rabbit, that would light up and have its ears spin around.

With no shortages of robots and personal assistant devices being shown at this year’s CES, Karotz, a tall-eared eager to server Wi-Fi deice from Mindscape sort of stood out.

What make Karotz different? Well, this time it’s a bit more social. A lot of the functionality looks to be the same, reading email, RSS feeds, weather, alarm, and talking to others who have the device. Karotz is a bit more social now.

Mindscape hopes to bring in a social network for talking to other rabbits online as a sort of dating service that costs $2.99 per month. For social, Karotz will also be able to read out your friends’ Twitter and Facebook updates should you want it to.

You can also listen to MP3s and make phone calls over the Internet through Karotz.

Karotz will start at $179.99 in March, which includes the big bunny and two smaller RFID-chipped bunnies that the big one will recognize. More RFID bunnies can be bought for $12.49. Other accessories will include a music pack (dock, speakers), stickers, a 4GB “tail” (flash drive), and of course different colored ears.
