Apple releases iOS 4.2 and Apple TV 4.1, Perfect AirPlay Bedfellows
Apple has just released both iOS 4.2 and Apple TV 4.1 much to the delight of the masses. The latest version is available for the iPad, iPhone and iPod touch; however, it has a more significant bearing for the iPad, as it brings our more than 100 new features.
One of the most sought-after being multitasking, which enables users to keep several apps open at the same time and switch between them almost instantly, while preserving iPad’s battery life.
Wait there is more, Macworld has is reporting that Apple has finally release the long awaited Apple TV 4.1.The big new feature in the update is support for AirPlay, a new Apple technology that allows devices running iOS 4.2 or Macs and PCs running iTunes 10 to stream video over a local network and have it played back on a TV set via the Apple TV.
The other major feature added with the Apple TV 4.1 software is support for VoiceOver, or spoken menus. This feature can be enabled from the Accessibility submenu of the General menu under Settings. After enabling VoiceOver, the user can set the speed of the voice, from default to very fast to slow.
