The Godzilla Swedish Chameleon DSLR Rig
A first glance it may look like a torture device taken out of the movie SAW, but take away the chrome, the rails, the pads and the bars, and you will find a beatiful, but intricate $3500 (18995 Danish Krone) Swedish Chameleon DSLR rig.
As it turns out, this is Swedish Chameleon’s way of compressing a whole bunch of photographic features into one awkward, yet completely usable, DSLR rig.
However, it seems like a pretty heavy, expensive, bulky way of compensating for the fact that you don’t have easy (dial, buttons) control over focus and aperture on-camera.
It isn’t the price that makes me not like this product, its the fact that it’s necessary. For $3,500 plus the cost of the camera/lens, you could get a functional digital video camera. The amount of extra pulleys and levers attached to this camera proves how poorly conceived DSLR video truly is.
It looks like waaaaay too much effort.
