Talk about being an unfit parent! Mother, Jayla Hamm, 18 and her boyfriend were sentenced to some time behind bars for the duct-tapping of their 22 month old toddler to a wall.

Jayla Hamm, 18, held her helpless son against the wall while boyfriend Corde Honea,19, taped his wrists, legs and body.

Hamm and Honea then took these pictures of the crying child and further taunted him by taping his favorite sippy cup just outside his reach.

Even though the boys face is whited out, you can clearly see the distress as he tries to break himself free.

If that wasn’t enough torture for the boy, the two incompetent parents then taped the boy’s fist shut

The couple’s callous actions were only discovered when Hamm showed the pictures to a friend, who immediately alerted police.

Police then seized the digital camera containing the photos of the boy.

However, the nightmare doesn’t end there, as the both parents admit to being ‘high’ after a night of heavy partying.

“Taping the child to the wall was a source of entertainment and not punishment”, says Hamm.

The mother, Jayla Hamm, 18, was sentence to 10 days in jail and two years’ probation, while her boyfriend, 19-year-old Corde Honea, received a sentence of 36 to 60 months in prison—as well as separate sentences for burglary and possession of a firearm.

Unfortunately this doesn’t look like an isolated case; we found another picture of an unnamed baby girl duct tape to the wall that has been doing the rounds on the internet.

Absolutely disgusting.

UPDATE:

ABC News reported that the boy is now living with his mother and that state health officials would continue to monitor the boy’s home, while prosecutors investigate a separate case to see if Hamm should continue to have custody of the child. However, the teen’s mother told KMTV that the boy is in “foster care.”
