Elderly Woman Driving the Wrong way down I-95 Causes Mayhem
An 84 year old woman from Wilmington, Delaware has seen better days; it turns out the elderly grandmother took her Buick Century station wagon the wrong way down Interstate 95 Thursday at 50mph, causing four separate accidents.
The bewildering Video obtained first by Action News shows an elderly woman cruising the wrong way in the southbound lanes of I-95.
At one point, she even side swipes the center concrete barrier.
Action News viewer Tim Fleming shot the video on his phone while traveling in the northbound lanes.
“It was crazy, man, I thought I was going to see people die, I seriously thought I was going to see people die,” Fleming said.
Amazingly, No one was seriously hurt, but it is still unclear if the woman knew she was going the wrong way, but she eventually stopped and got off the interstate.
I wonder how they are going to deal with this one…she obviously didn’t mean to do what she did at 84 years of age. However, I do think they need to take her license so that she does not hurt others or her self.
According to a comment left on 6abc.com, Michael Cronauer, who was apparently right next to Fleming who was filming the incident says:

If this was a teenager driving the wrong way the elderly would want the minimum age to drive raised to 21.
I agree 100 percent, in fact they would probably even want him/her thrown in jail.
Reports said she was driving down Route 322 the wrong way before she got on I-95 going the wrong way as well…I would think folks were calling 911 about her, and no state or local police were able to intercept an 84 year old grandmother?
